They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3>ABOUT THE ROLE:</h3> <p>As the Facilities Operations Lead at xAI Memphis, you will oversee the maintenance and performance of critical data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental systems. You will lead a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, driving hands-on technical operations, team leadership, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data center. This role emphasizes fostering a team-first culture, prioritizing team focus, and promoting a collaborative work environment.</p> <h3>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h3> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Oversee maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure, including HVAC, power distribution, and backup systems.</li> <li>Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules, equipment calibration, and system performance monitoring.</li> <li>Create and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to streamline equipment intake, installation, and maintenance processes.</li> <li>Utilize internal applications for inventory and asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.</li> <li>Manage critical equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely resolution and detailed documentation.</li> <li>Partner with cross-functional teams to support seamless data center operations.</li> <li>Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.</li> <li>Provide on-call support and respond promptly to critical facilities incidents.</li> </ul> <h3>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field (relevant experience may substitute for degree).</li> <li>8+ years of experience managing critical facilities systems, including power, cooling, and environmental controls.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data centers.</li> <li>8+ years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical facilities infrastructure.</li> <li>Proficiency with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring tools.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining facilities equipment.</li> <li>Proven leadership experience in critical facilities or technical operations environments.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to lead facilities infrastructure projects.</li> <li>Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.</li> <li>Strong prioritization and time management skills.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.</li> <li>Must pass pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks.</li> <li>Physical Requirements: <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted.</li> <li>Comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet with appropriate safety gear.</li> <li>Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise.</li> <li>Physical dexterity to perform job functions in confined spaces.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Availability to work evenings and weekends based on site operational needs; flexibility is required.</li> <li>Valid driver’s license.</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</h3> <ul> <li>Experience programming PLC-based control systems or working with Building Management Systems.</li> <li>Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.</li> <li>EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA 608 Technician).</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>xAI is an equal opportunity employer.
