They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></h3> <p>We are building AI-powered platforms for transformative applications in education. This work involves creating scalable, AI-driven systems with personalized interactions, adaptive features, content delivery, and analytics to deliver meaningful user experiences at scale.</p> <p>We’re looking for generalist fullstack engineers who thrive on owning significant parts of the system end-to-end: from intuitive user interfaces to robust backend services, data infrastructure, and deep AI integrations.</p> <h3><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Build and maintain fullstack features, including user dashboards, personalized experiences, content delivery, interactive tools, assessments, and real-time analytics.</li> <li>Develop backend services, APIs, and data models to support high-volume, multi-user environments.</li> <li>Integrate AI capabilities (tutoring, content generation, personalization) deeply into the platform.</li> <li>Design and implement database schemas and queries for tracking progress, engagement, and reporting.</li> <li>Collaborate on integrations with external systems and data sources to enable comprehensive workflows.</li> <li>Ensure the platform is performant, secure, reliable, and scalable for broad deployment.</li> <li>Work closely with product, design, AI, and domain experts to iterate rapidly based on user feedback and outcome data.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experienced fullstack engineer comfortable owning features across the entire stack (frontend, backend, database).</li> <li>Strong generalist who can fluidly move between UI/UX implementation, API design, data modeling, and systems architecture.</li> <li>Proficient in modern web technologies (e.g., TypeScript/React/Next.js on the frontend; Python/FastAPI or similar on the backend).</li> <li>Solid experience with relational databases and designing schemas for complex domains.</li> <li>Good eye for UX design and strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Familiarity with large-scale user-facing applications or domain-specific platforms is a strong plus.</li> <li>Passionate about building products that create real-world impact.</li> <li>Excited to work in a fast-moving, high-impact environment with significant ownership.</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Willingness and ability to travel frequently to the customer site in El Salvador and/or work onsite as required by project needs</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Full professional fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual), with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages</li> </ul> <h3><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Primarily JavaScript/TypeScript and Python</li> <li>Frontend: React, <a href="http://next.js">Next.js</a></li> <li>Backend: FastAPI or Django</li> <li>Database: SQL, Redis</li> <li>Infrastructure: AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes</li> <li>Other: REST/GraphQL APIs, real-time features (WebSockets), analytics pipelines</li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong></span></h3> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">$180,000 - $440,000 USD</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short &amp; long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks.</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>xAI is an equal opportunity employer.
